Adam Woodyatt has made some very interesting comments about his EastEnders future while on I'm a Celebrity.
The actor has been able to enter the I'm a Celebrity castle, in part, because EastEnders gave him an extended break from his role as Ian Beale since early in 2021.
Adam left the Square to take up a leading role in the play Looking Good Dead, which is now running until next April, essentially leading soap bosses to extend the length of Ian's absence from Walford.
During Tuesday's (November 30) edition of the ITV reality show, Adam chatted about how the fallout of Ian's split from Sharon Watts earlier this year actually necessitated him taking a break from the soap anyway.

“I just had another opportunity. This play came up," he said. "I just fancied doing something different. The way the storyline is, they needed me to take a break. Yeah... the break’s just got longer.”
However, Adam mentioned as well he doesn't necessarily plan to return to EastEnders when he finishes with Looking Good Dead next spring.
Fellow campmate Kadeena asked if he'd ever consider leaving soaps behind for the movies, with Adam answering: "I'm available as of April."
An EastEnders spokesperson recently refused to comment to Digital Spy on Adam Woodyatt's status with the soap when asked about whether he plans to return as Ian next year.

Soap viewers last saw Ian in January, when his then-wife Sharon tried to poison her husband once she found out he was responsible for her son Dennis Rickman drowning in the boat disaster a year earlier.
Ian ultimately fled the Square when Sharon showed remorse, throwing his mobile phone away and leaving Walford after one last bitter look back.
EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
