I'm a Celebrity's Simon Gregson and Adam Woodyatt get covered in snakes as they do first trial

Soaps stars Adam Woodyatt and Simon Gregson are thrown straight in at the deep end in Thursday night's I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! as they are immediately made to do a trial which sees their heads covered in snakes.

The new arrivals were revealed at the end of Wednesday's show as Ant & Dec told the established camp that none of them would be doing the next trial.

EastEnders' Adam and Coronation Street's Simon, aka Ian Beale and Steve McDonald, will be joining the other celebrities at Gwrych Castle after almost a week, and many viewers were wondering where they were.

The video above shows them locked in a clear box undoing stars with their tongues to win meals for the camp on their debut evening.

As they try and complete the challenge, snakes are dropped into the box, the soap icons make very 'Steve' and 'Ian' expressions and their heads are seen atop cutouts of pop stars Freddie Mercury and Brian May.

Ahead of the show the pair revealed they have strong Welsh links with Adam spending his teen years in Llanidloes and Simon saying he'd escape to his caravan on Anglesey if things got too much in Gwrych.

Speaking in a teaser clip during Wednesday's instalment of I'm A Celeb, he said: "I'm starting to get really frightened now about what might be there, I'm not great with spiders."

One thing that is great, he said, is that it's in Wales.

He explained: "It's great that it's in Wales I've got a caravan in Anglesey, I'll just be like 'I'll climb over that wall I'm done'."

Earlier today it was revealed that Richard Madeley was taken to hospital overnight. You can see Simon and Adam's trial on tonight's episode.
