BBC fans 'mute' Michael McIntyre as AJ Odudu's appearance ...

BBC viewers issued the same complaint as they tuned into watch Michael McIntyre's Big Show on Saturday. This week, the comedian welcomed TV host AJ Odudu, who took part in Send to All, which sees Michael sending a risky text message to his guest's contact list.

Michael also left an Unexpected Star of the Show in shock with an ambitious indoor skydive prank, and he took on The Wheel on Wheels where he surprised a family in Ilford.

However, midway through the programme, Michael introduced AJ and her friends before turning his attention to what phone she had. He said: "Now, talk about your phone because this is what it's all about, isn't it? How is your screen time?"

"I wouldn't say I was addicted to it but I do like my phone," AJ admitted. "I mean it is in my hand right now, it is glued to me."

Noticing the make of the phone, Michael asked: "It's not an Iphone though, is it?" to which AJ replied: "It is a Google Pixel."

"How come you have got that one?" the BBC host asked as AJ replied: "A few years ago I just thought, iPhones every time I drop them the screen would smash and five times in one week, I dropped my phone and smashed it...literally five consecutive days in a row."

"I think you should be worrying more about you," Michael joked before AJ decided to launch her phone off the balcony to prove how sterdy it was.

Although, luckily for the Big Brother presenter, Michael managed to catch it just in time.

Viewers were left divided by AJ's appearance on the show and many took to X to share their thoughts.

One fan complained: "#BigShow the pretence of the celebrity k***heads not knowing what is really going on is ridiculous. And later on that thing with the mobile phone, it's all pre-scripted and the phone is a dummy. Like the host and audience are." (sic)

Another claimed: "I've had to mute this bit. I cannot cope with AJ and Michael at the same time #MichaelMcIntyresBigShow."

A third agreed: "Oh dear she drives me nuts #bigshow."

"She's got a Google Pixel because she did the adverts and they gave it to her for nothing," a fourth fan pointed out as another echoed: "It is a bit odd that the star is someone I largely know for a mobile phone advert. #MichaelMcIntyresBigShow."

A six fan went on: "My mam’s forcing me to watch Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, and I think that’s all the proof I need that she hates me." (sic)

However, not everyone shared the same opinions as many took to social media to praise AJ and how funny she was.

One fan simply said: "#bigshow ahh love AJ," as another beamed: "AJ been a fan for so long, But after tonight I'm a mega fan love and respect." (sic)

Last weekend, Alison Hammond sparked backlash after Michael surprised her in bed as part of the Unexpected Star of the Show segment.

Despite some fans criticising the This Morning host's appearance on the show, with many saying Alison seemed to be "everywhere", others jumped to her defence on social media.

"Why pass comment about her then? She's in the ascendency career wise and the British disease of picking on the successful, who have worked hard to achieve, kicks in again," one fan hit back at the backlash.

Another pointed out: "Her son set her up, and if shows want to book her, she's not going to turn a payday down like you wouldn't."
