The One Show Alex Jones' five-word response as co-host quizzes ...

BBC’s The One Show opened on Monday, March 18 with Jermaine Jenas sending a sweet message to his co-host Alex Jones, who joined him on the sofa. Jermaine said at the start of the programme: “Well it's a very special day today isn't it, madam? Happy birthday.”

Birthday girl Alex, who is now 47 years old, thanked him before Jermaine added: “How does it feel?” - and Alex gave him a swift five-word response. “94 and still going strong,” she joked.

Just prior to the show, the official X account for The One Show posted a message to Alex. The message read: “Happy Birthday to our very own @MissAlexjones from everyone at #TheOneShow!”

In response, several fans of the show replied with their own birthday messages to Alex, who was born in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire.

Over the weekend Alex shared a rare snap with her husband Charlie Thomson, with whom she shares three children. Looking relaxed in jeans, trainers, and a coat, Alex told her 353k Instagram followers: "24 hours in Copenhagen..... let's go."
