Episode 4, titled The Tomb, saw Marc/Steven team up with Layla to enter Ammit’s tomb, on the heels of Arthur Harrow and his men.

Upon entering the tomb, Marc/Steven and Layla encounter the horrific presence of undead Egyptian priests and have to escape their grasp by moving deeper into the tomb.

In the hopes of stopping Arthur’s resurrection of Ammit, Steven begins searching for the god’s ushabti, leading him to the great sarcophagus of Alexander the Great – identified by the Macedonian scriptures.

Steven confirms that Alexander the Great was the voice of Ammit and proceeds to find the ushabti in the throat of his corpse.

Who is Alexander the Great?

Alexander the Great, also known as Alexander III or Alexander of Macedonia, is known as the king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon.

Considered to be one of history’s greatest military commanders, Alexander’s reign led him on a campaign to conquer Western Asia and Northeastern Africa, besting the Persian Empire and claiming victory over King Porus during the Battle of the Hydaspes.

The ruler managed to establish twenty cities during his time as king, with each bearing his name, including Alexandria, Egypt.

The tomb of Alexander the Great

There is some speculation over how Alexander the Great died, with some accounts claiming that the king was poisoned and others blaming his downfall on malaria or typhoid fever.

As the king respected Egyptian culture, Alexander’s body was buried in a gold anthropoid sarcophagus and was first buried in Memphis, Egypt.

His sarcophagus then traveled to Alexandria, where it is said to have remained for a significant period of time.

Despite Alexandria being the final recorded resting place of Alexander the Great, the king’s tomb has remained a mystery, with some claiming it was destroyed during the 4th century.
