Adam Peaty's ex says Strictly was 'beginning of the end' for their relationship

Adam Peaty's ex-girlfriend Eiri Munro has revealed that his stint on Strictly Come Dancing was the 'beginning of the end' for their three-year relationship, which ended in 2022.

Eiri shares three-year-old son George with Olympian Adam, 29, who appeared on the BBC dancing competition in 2021 and is now in a relationship with Gordon Ramsay's daughter Holly, 24. The former couple got together in 2019, but the spotlight came onto the relationship when Adam appeared to nearly kiss dance partner Katya Jones in front of millions of viewers at the end of a performance.

When asked if the show had played a part in her split from Adam during a recent interview with The Sun, Eiri replied: "It was definitely the beginning of the end.”

While she also warned other celebrities if they are considering taking part in Strictly, explaining: "My advice wouldn’t be to the partners of those going on Strictly, but for the celebrities participating; involve your family in the process — it can be a very lonely process for partners.

“Also reassure your partner, especially when the world inevitably begins to speculate there’s something going on between you and your dance partner."

Eiri attempted to see the lighter side of things while Adam was competing on Strictly, posting a video where she pretended to cry and wrote: “Watching your boyfriend almost kiss another woman on live TV — finding out 10million people also watched it.”

However, the pair announced their split the following year, with Adam sharing the news to Instagram as he apologised to both his former girlfriend and their son for 'letting them down'.

He wrote: “Eiri and I have decided to go our separate ways. We have enjoyed a wonderful three years together, 2 of those with our gorgeous son George. I could not ask for a greater mother for George and I am so grateful to Eiri for her amazing support over the last three years. Eiri and George, I’m sorry for letting you down.

“My only interest is for the well-being of our family at this difficult time so I ask that our privacy is respected and I won’t be saying anything further."

He has now been in a relationship with Holly since last year, with the swimmer even getting a tattoo tribute to her last year. Celebrating his birthday last year with a collection of snaps, one of which revealed his new 'H' tattoo on his chest, Adam wrote to Instagram: "29 and Blessed [cross emoji] Thank you @hollyramsayy I love you so much [white heart emoji]."
