Lehman Trilogy actor Adrian Schiller has died
The versatile British actor Adrian Schiller played the role of Henry Lehman in The Lehman Trilogy in Sydney just weeks ago.

The British actor Adrian Schiller, who played the role of Henry Lehman in the touring production of The Lehman Trilogy seen recently in Sydney, has died. He was 60.

A statement released by his representative, Scott Marshall Partners, said: “[Adrian] has died far too soon, and we, his family and close friends are devastated by the loss.”

“His death was sudden and unexpected and no further details around its cause are yet available.”

In a social media tribute, director of the National Theatre, Rufus Norris, wrote that he was “deeply saddened and shocked” by the loss of a company member. “Adrian was a wonderful actor, and the National Theatre had the pleasure of working with him throughout the breadth of his career.”

“His recent performance as Henry Lehman in the Australian premiere of The Lehman Trilogy was superb and his presence within the company will be greatly missed.”

Actor Samuel West wrote: “Whether it was Shakespeare, TV drama or new plays, [Adrian] graced every company he was in and brought talent, fierce intelligence and huge heart to all he did.”

Well-known for his TV and big screen roles, which include the 2015 films The Danish Girl and Suffragette, and 2017’s Victoria, Schiller also performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company (including in its internationally-touring Julius Caesar, in which he played Cassius).

His stage credits include Yaël Farber’s production of The Crucible, (Old Vic, 2014), Australian director Benedict Andrews’ production of Three Sisters, (Young Vic, 2012) and Abigail Graham’s production of The Merchant of Venice for Shakespeare’s Globe in 2022.
