American Airlines CEO Doug Parker to retire in latest reshuffling at US carriers
Parker will be succeeded by Robert Isom, who has served as the company’s president since 2016.

Similar issues prompted American to remove nearly 950 flights from its schedule in July and offer bonuses to employees who either pick up shifts or who have perfect attendance during the holiday travel season. However, American’s pilots, who are negotiating with the carrier over a new labor contract, rejected the incentives. Eric Ferguson, president of the Allied Pilots Association, which represents American’s pilots, said in a statement that Isom will have a “lengthy ‘to-do’ list," adding that “our goal is to restore American Airlines to a position of industry leadership for the benefit of all concerned, and I am confident that, together, we can achieve it.”
