Sainsbury's statement after expert called to investigate 'incident' at Nottingham superstore

Sainsburys statement after expert called to investigate incident at Nottingham superstore
There had been reports of a gas leak

Sainsbury's has confirmed 'an expert' visited one of its Nottingham stores after reports of a gas leak earlier this week. The supermarket chain said in a statement that it followed an incident at its superstore in Perry Road on Monday, March 21.

The statement came after Nottinghamshire Live received reports of a gas leak at the store, which was said to have led to an evacuation. However, Sainsbury's said that after an expert attended it was confirmed that the branch was safe to continue trading.

A spokesperson for Sainsbury's said: "An expert was called to our Perry Road superstore in Nottingham following an incident earlier this week. They confirmed it was safe to continue trading and the store has remained open as usual."

They added that it was an engineer who attended the premises and deemed it was not necessary to close the store.
