Aston Villa vs Manchester United LIVE highlights and reaction as Coutinho scores on debut
Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Saturday evening when they travel to face Aston Villa, with kick-off at 5:30pm GMT.
United began the week with a victory against the same opponents, but know they will need to put in a much better performance if they are to come away with three points this weekend.
Ralf Rangnick's side will be looking to bounce back from defeat to Wolves in the league two weeks ago and head into the match buoyed by an incredible record at Villa Park. United are unbeaten in their last 22 away league games against Villa, the longest winless home run one side has had against another in English Football League history.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford are not in the squad while Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay miss the match through suspension. Youngster Anthony Elanga starts.

‘Broken and rotten from top to bottom’ read the banner in the second tier of the Doug Ellis Stand. Antipathy is rife among Manchester United supporters again and they needed the team to stir the soul. They did and they didn't.
Kitted out in their vibrant Hacienda tribute kit, United exhibited that jaunty arrogance that has been absent for almost the entirety of the campaign. They had waited seven years to threaten another Villa Park pitch invasion by celebrating a goal at the north stand. Bruno Fernandes sparked delirium worthy of Madchester.
United then suffered a brutal and sobering comedown. Yesteryear, they would recover from a two-goal deficit to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at Villa. With this feeble squad of underachievers, the roles are reversed.
Steven Gerrard, baited again by United supporters, had the last laugh by introducing Philippe Coutinho to poach the equaliser. Gerrard's in-game management embarrassed the dormant Ralf Rangnick, dilatory in his planning and misguided in the choice of Jadon Sancho to close the contest out.

David de Gea
Made two routine stops from Emiliano Buendia and Lucas Digne in the first-half and vigilantly denied Jacob Ramsey but his kicking put United under pressure. 7
Diogo Dalot
A decent first-half at right-back against the foraging Digne, who then skinned him early in the second and Villa constantly targeted Dalot. 4
Victor Lindelof
An improvement on his rusty performance against Villa on Monday night but then he went walkabout for the goals. 5
Raphael Varane
A class act again and nigh-on flawless with his defending while United were in front but was then swamped as Villa scored once and then twice. 7

United take advantage of Villa’s wastefulness at the back as Fernandes scores his second. Fernandes was never going to miss that but it wasn’t an easy finish, by any means. He was regressing in the match - losing possession on multiple occasions - yet he came up with that crucial second goal that should seal the game.

It is not unreasonable to suggest United consider a change at this juncture to attain more control. Their passing and composure has completely deserted them this half and Villa scent blood. United have been regressing since the final 10 minutes of the first-half and Villa, let off the hook in the first 35 minutes, are more like the proactive opponents at Old Trafford on Monday.

United need some composure here.
They need a spell of possession.

Buendia from the edge of the box but it's tame.

Villa have started the second half how they ended the first - they look dangerous. The hosts always promised to enjoy a spell in this match after Monday’s performance and they’re starting to ask questions of United now. United need to stand tall and weather the storm.
This wouldn’t be a bad time to get a goal on the counter-attack...
