Picking up a left adductor strain on the latest installment of NBA Saturdays, Clint Capela has been ruled out for seven to ten days.

The Atlanta Hawks updated his status on Sunday afternoon following the overtime win versus the Golden State Warriors in State Farm Arena.

Per the press release: “After experiencing discomfort late in last night’s game vs. Golden State, center Clint Capela underwent an MRI earlier today at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex.

He has been diagnosed with a left adductor strain. He will be re-evaluated in seven-to-10 days and his status will be updated as appropriate.”

Capela, 29, has been established as the starting center since landing in Atlanta. In the 2023-24 Regular Season, he tallied 11.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 1.0 assists, and 0.6 steals per contest over 47 games played, including 17 points and 15 rebounds against the Warriors on Saturday. Posting his 23rd double-double, he ranks 15th in the league based in North America.

In 2014, he was selected with the 25th overall pick in the NBA draft by the Houston Rockets. Lasting six years at the Texas franchise, a trade moved him to the Hawks before the 2020-21 season. Between the two teams, he has been featured in 670 NBA games, including 87 across eight berths in the Playoffs.

Early professional experience stretched to seven appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and ten in the 7DAYS EuroCup as a promising prospect of Elan Chalon.
