Burnley vs Wolves lineups confirmed with Maxwel Cornet absence explained as Matej Vydra starts
Burnley take on Wolves in the Premier League today

Maxwel Cornet misses out for Burnley against Wolves through injury with interim boss Mike Jackson bringing Matej Vydra into the XI.

The change means Jay Rodriguez will play wide as the Clarets retain the attacking 4-4-2 shape. Cornet was replaced in the second half of the win over Southampton on Thursday night and has picked up a minor knee problem.

Vydra will partner Wout Weghorst up front with Jackson's decision to play Rodriguez wide, rather than Aaron Lennon, further indication of his desire to play attacking football as the Clarets chase a positive result in the battle against relegation.

Ben Mee, Ashley Westwood, Erik Pieters and Johann Berg Gudmundsson remain sidelined with Burnley otherwise unchanged from the win over the Saints.

Burnley: Pope, Roberts, Collins, Tarkowski, Taylor; McNeil, Cork, Brownhill, Rodriguez; Weghorst, Vydra

Subs: Hennessey, Lowton, Long, Thomas Bardsley, Lennon, Stephens, Costelloe, Barnes

Wolves have made four changes to their side with Max Kilman injured.

Wolves XI: Sá, Jiménez, Boly, Coady, Silva, Jonny, Semedo, Hwang, Saïss, Moutinho, Dendoncker.

Burnley are 18th in the table, a point adrift of Everton with a superior goal difference. It means a draw today would move the Clarets out of the bottom three for the first time since October ahead of Frank Lampard's side visiting Liverpool in the Merseyside derby later today.

The Clarets have picked up four points in Jackson's two games thus far since the sacking of Sean Dyche over Easter. And Burnley are now weighing up offering Jackson and the interim team the job until the end of the season as they seek a full time replacement.
