Palmer strike shortlisted for Premier League Goal of the Month
Cole Palmer’s stunning opener in our Premier League victory over Everton has been nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Month award for April.
The England international broke the deadlock after just 13 minutes. Palmer received a pass from Malo Gusto, nutmegged Jarrad Branthwaite, flicked the ball into Nicolas Jackson, and then guided the return into the far corner beyond Jordan Pickford.
It was a strike that set the tone for Palmer and Chelsea's performance. The 21-year-old would wrap up a hat-trick inside the opening half-hour and added a fourth goal after the interval from the penalty spot.
Jackson and Alfie Gilchrist were also on the scoresheet as the Blues recorded a 6-0 triumph, our biggest victory under Mauricio Pochettino in the Premier League.
Palmer's goal has been nominated alongside seven others from the Premier League, including Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne's goal against Crystal Palace and Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo's goal against Liverpool.
