The board of Germany\'s largest bank, Deutsche Bank has reportedly agreed to merger talks with the second-largest, Commerzbank. The German government has been urging the two struggling banks to merge after years of losses. Deutsche Bank has also faced scrutiny in the US over a money-laundering scandal and about its failed loans to President Donald Trump. And while Germany may prefer to have one big bank at the helm, other EU countries might prefer a merger with one of their banks to strengthen the cooling European economy.
