Danielle Lloyd issues warning after cancer diagnosis as shes
"Just look after yourself because you never know what's going to happen"

Danielle Lloyd has taken to Instagram to share a warning as she broke the news that she had been diagnosed with skin cancer.

The Liverpool-born former model and reality TV star said she was "really shocked" by the news she shared on her Instagram story yesterday (February 14).

Fighting back tears as she spoke, Lloyd said: "I don't really know how to say this and I didn't know whether to come on and say it but I feel like I have to raise awareness about this."

"Today I have been diagnosed with a form of skin cancer."

"And I just want to raise awareness for anyone who might think they've got something funny on their body, they see a mole that's growing that's not normal - please, please, please go to your doctor. You just never, never know.

"I'm really shocked at what I've been told today but I've been really supported by the Macmillan nurses at the hospital. I am going to have to have an operation to see if it has spread.

"But yeah, just honestly, not what I expected today. And I suppose not what anyone expects.

"Please guys, look after your skin. Stay off sunbeds, wear factor 50. Just look after yourself because you never know what's going to happen."

She received a number of supportive comments following her announcement. "Sending love to you and your family," wrote @s_shannyc, while @xclaireymac1888x wrote: "Sending you love and strength Danielle. You've got this xxx."

In a story posted today (January 15) Lloyd thanked her followers for their "messages of support and personal stories" they had shared.

"I'm glad that my story had made some of you listen and take action on moles/skin problems that you had been worried about."

"Please don't wait till it's too late! Don't be scared just get it checked however big or small. If you see change make sure you go to your doctor."
