Danielle Lloyd welcomes second baby with husband Michael O’Neill

Danielle Lloyd has welcomed her first daughter and second child with husband Michael O’Neill.

The 37-year-old announced that she gave birth to her fifth child on Friday, and that both mum and baby are doing well.

She told OK! magazine: ‘Friday we welcomed our beautiful baby girl to complete our family.

‘We are all over the moon and both mummy & baby are doing well.’

Danielle has yet to reveal her daughter’s name, although recently revealed she was considering opting for her first choice – Rose.

The Celebrity Big Brother star said she was ‘gutted’ when Stacey Solomon called her daughter Rose when she gave birth in October, but isn’t ruling out still choosing the name.

Her new arrival is the model’s fifth child overall.

She shares son Ronnie, three, with husband Michael and boys Archie, 11, Harry, 10, and George, eight, with her footballer ex-husband Jamie O’Hara.

Danielle has made no secret of the fact she wanted her next child to be a girl, and at one point planned to fly out to America and Dubai to undergo gender selection.

She defended the process explaining that she wants a daughter so she can have the same close relationship with her as she has with her own mum.

‘I’ve got four boys at the moment and not even just me myself but my partner and my boys would love a girl. They keep asking for a sister.

‘Obviously it’s quite difficult to explain to them, “You’ll just have to wait for the stork to bring the baby, maybe they’ll bring the girl”.

‘For me it’s just I’ve got a close bond to my mum and I want that bond as well with a daughter.

‘I’m not ungrateful that I’ve got four boys. I love them and I’m so glad I was able to have four boys, but there’s something inside me that makes me want to have daughter.’

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, she added: ‘I think girls are so much closer to their mums. The boys grow up and leave home.

‘I don’t mind if she’s a tomboy, it’s just that thing of having a girl. Girls are so much closer to their mums than boys. Boys are when they’re young but then they all go off and leave home.’

Defending her decision, Danielle responded: ‘I just think it’s not harming anyone. It’s my decision it’s my life. Why does anybody care what I’m doing?’

She has shared her pregnancy journey on social media, sharing she had put together a nursery, which she decorated pink, ahead of the baby’s arrival.

The Celebrity Big Brother star confessed she would be happy to keep trying if the baby tuned out to be a boy.

Three years ago the mum-of-five suffered a miscarriage and believed she was pregnant with a girl as it felt ‘different to my others’.

Danielle and Michael got engaged after six months together in 2016 and welcomed their son Ronnie the following year, getting married in Dubai in April 2019.
