International sales success for Stephen Grahams Boiling Point
Liverpool-conceived, Manchester-shot kitchen sink drama has sold to several global markets as London TV Screenings Week gets underway.

Stephen Graham’s Boiling Point, the serialised follow-up to the 2021 feature film, has sold to a host of international markets as this week’s London TV Screenings Week gets underway.

Boiling Point, which shot in Manchester last year, follows the team from the movie running a new restaurant following former head chef Andy (Graham)’s heart attack. Produced by Ascendant Fox and Graham’s own Matriarch Productions with Made Up Productions, the series has so far sold to M-Net and Showmax in Africa, France’s Canal+, Cyprus’ CyBC, Cinobo in Greece, and public broadcasters TVNZ (New Zealand), YLE (Finland) and NPO (the Netherlands).

Other BBC Studios dramas to have had early success with international distributors and broadcasters at the showcase event include Beyond Paradise, Blue Lights and the recent The Famous Five adaptation.

Beyond Paradise, Red Planet Pictures’ detective spin-off to Death in Paradise, has been sold to an impressive 40 countries including ZDF, Mediaset in Italy, Sky in New Zealand, BritBox in the Nordics, Portugal’s Star Crime and Spain (Cosmo and Atreseries).

Nick Percy, president of global media and streaming at BBC Studios, said: “From exploring the intricacies of running a new kitchen amid personal struggles in Boiling Point, to the gripping drama of rookie police officers in Blue Lights, these sales are a testament to the appeal of thought-provoking storytelling that transcends borders and brings people together.”
