Who is Dilly Carter BBC Sort Your Life Out star on her cancer
Dilly Carter, who appears on BBC makeover show Sort Your Life Out, has shared her cancer battle with fans

BBC's Dilly Carter has opened up about her cancer battle and infertility. In April last year, Dilly, who is 43, told everyone she had stage one cancer in her womb.

She opens up on social media about how she's doing and she gave an update earlier in February on World Cancer Day.

Dilly posted a picture from a hospital bed and said: "Cancer changed my life forever. It changes a whole family's life forever. Not only did it take away my ability to have children again it has affected my daily life forever from the way I eat to the amount of time I can spend on my feet."

"The scars and the daily side effects are just the physical reminders. The mental effects are with you forever. No matter how much you try to ignore it and carry on. You will carry that weight around forever. What it did not do however is take my life."

"I am eternally grateful to the surgeons and doctors who operated for 5 and a half hours to stop the cancer spreading by removing it. Survivors' guilt however is also a huge part of living with cancer especially when so many lose their lives all around you. 1 in 2 of us will develop a form of cancer in our lifetime."

When Dilly shared the photo, she received a flood of supportive messages. One follower wrote: "You hit the nail on the head. Although I don't have all the physical long term issues you do."

Another fan expressed: "Been there - and it takes time to get over not just the physical, but the psychological, you're right." While another supporter added: "You are so brave and such an inspiration to so many people."

Dilly's journey to becoming a decluttering queen started with a simple job in luxury boutiques where she folded clothes as a teenager. She then moved into personal shopping and assisting which helped her learn how to make spaces both stylish and functional.

Now known to her huge following of over 100k Instagram fans as @declutterdollies, Dilly uses social media and virtual cleanups to reach out and help others organise their homes or offices.

Her little tips called 'Dolly Dashes' aim to gradually break down the clutter in everyone's daily life. This passion for decluttering truly ignited when she started helping her mother, who has bipolar disorder, order the chaos at home.

A new series of the BBC show Sort Your Life Out starts on Tuesday, February 20. Stacey Solomon and her team are back to help families clean up their homes.
