The 11 Future Electric Trucks We Can't Wait to Drive

Pickup trucks are the most inefficient, gas-guzzling vehicles on the road. But counterintuitively, trucks are relatively low-hanging fruit for engineers to reimagine as electric vehicles. Trucks are large enough to accommodate large battery packs, and those packs actually improve their weight distribution and handling. And the instant torque can be incredibly useful for straight-line acceleration and off-roading.

We’ve driven early electric truck efforts such as the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T and GMC Hummer EV SUT, but there are far more to come soon. Here’s a roundup of the future new electric trucks we can’t wait to drive in 2024 and beyond.

Chevrolet Silverado EV (2024)

Chevy unveiled the Silverado EV back in 2022, and the consumer production model finally hits dealers in summer 2024. Built on GM’s Ultium EV platform, it should offer up to 400 miles of range and accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds in “Wide Open Watts” mode. It also borrows some style from the Chevy Avalanche, if you’re into that sort of thing.
