Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of Everton's pre-season friendly against Pumas.

The Blues take on the Mexican club at the Camping World Stadium in the second match of their tour of Florida.

The last match saw Rafa Benitez's side beat Millonarios in a penalty shootout at the same venue, with new signings Andros Townsend, Asmir Begovic and Demarai Gray all featuring.

Today's game was originally due to be played against either Arsenal or Inter Milan, but both withdrew from the Florida Cup due to Covid-19.

Goal for Everton! (Kean)

Gray slides the ball through to Kean.

His first effort is saved but the goalkeeper can't keep hold of the ball and Kean taps in at the second time of asking.

1-0.

Begovic called into action

Dinero fires a spectacular effort from almost 30 yards and Begovic needs to push it over the bar. Corner to Pumas.

Everton fans expect

After a bit of a hectic first few minutes the game has settled down into a bit more of a rhythm now.

Pumas have managed to get their foot on the ball a little more without really creating chances, while Everton are still looking fairly sharp going forward.

I keep saying this is all about fitness, but we all want to see a few goals don’t we? Let’s hope the Blues players oblige.

"Come on..."

Diving is shameful at the best of times, but in a pre-season friendly? Come on Rogerio.

Theatrics

Pumas player down after minimal contact from Lucas Digne.

Nothing given, obviously.

7' - EVE 0-0 PUMMarcus Banks

Corner to Everton

Townsend crosses early but no one was in the box to meet it, Everton have a corner.

Everton looking sharp

Considering Pumas have already started their league season, they’ve not exactly started this match in a sharp manner.

They drew their opening match of the campaign 0-0 on Sunday while Everton were taking on Millonarios in the Florida Cup.

The Blues have looked ready in these opening stages, already capitalising on some mistakes at the top end of the pitch which is nice to see.

Formation

Early doors it looks like Andros Townsend on the left flank, Alex Iwobi through the middle and Demarai Gray on the right-hand side to begin proceedings.

Whether we’ll see that change a bit as we go remains to be seen.

Chance for Everton

Demarai Gray instantly involved, picks out Kean in the area but his shot is tame

The biggest squad in history?!

Did the TV graphics just say that a couple of the Pumas subs are wearing numbers 186 and 189?!! Some squad size that! And we thought Marcel Brands had his hands full shifting our unwanted players!

Kick off

Finally, we have kicked off after the players take the knee

Iwobi hint

The pre-match graphic suggests Iwobi will be playing as a No10 tonight. Interesting.

Creative solutions

They must not have sprinklers on the pitches there because at the minute there’s a few fellas frantically going about with hoses to water the ground.

Needs must, I suppose.

Everton release statement after Andrew Devine becomes 97th Hillsborough victim

Andrew's family said: "“It is with great sadness and a sense of immense loss that we can confirm that Andrew Devine passed away yesterday at the premature age of 55."

“Our collective devastation is overwhelming but so too is the realisation that we were blessed to have had Andrew with us for 32 years since the Hillsborough tragedy."

Thunder storms

Conditions on Sunday night were described as “boiling”. It was 30 degrees.

The Everton players were playing in 29 degree heat this evening but Orlando has been experiencing thundery showers, throughout the day, it seems.

Pre-match prep

The rest of the squad are out onto the pitch now to take part in their warm-ups!

I wish I could tell you little bits of what is happening as usual, but this birds-eye view on the stream isn’t really doing me any favours.

I can’t really see which white-shirted speck is which, to be frank.

The fans inside the stadium will be getting a great view of course, and it’s fantastic to see so many supporters filling the seats already!

Some, as shared on social media, have the new third kit as well which is also brilliant!

Two Everton players have a chance to impress Benitez

Everton’s goalkeepers are currently out on the pitch having a warm-up, you imagine the rest of the squad will be out to join them very shortly.

This could be a chance for both Tom Davies and Andre Gomes to impress their new manager tonight.

Of course fitness is the main aim here and that’s probably why the boss has made the changes he has, to get as many minutes in as many legs as possible.

However, with competition growing in those central midfield slots thanks to the fitness of Jean-Philippe Gbamin, there might be a bit of a fight for places when the beginning of the season comes around.

With there scheduled to be only one more pre-season match after this one, Gomes and Davies might not have a better opportunity to stake their claim.

22:13Adam Jones

Two interesting changes

A couple of very interesting changes from Rafa Benitez tonight, it turns out!

Those options in behind Moise Kean up front are particularly intriguing.

All of Andros Townsend, Demarai Gray and Alex Iwobi are starting this evening in Florida, but who will play where?

The latter has lined up as a No.10 numerous times in the past for Everton and seemingly believes that’s his best position, but does the new manager see it the same way?

Of course, Gray played through the middle on Sunday evening against Millonarios and scored, although he was playing further up the pitch on that occasion.

Townsend could easily play that role as well, so at the minute it’s anyone’s guess!

If I was a betting man, I’d honestly go for Iwobi - but let’s see.

James Rodriguez drops to the bench

We can't wait to watch this man in action again.

Scorcher

Just the 27 degrees for the players out in Florida this evening.

You wouldn’t see me playing well in heat like that, I can tell you.

...or any other heat, for that matter.

Anyway, it’s about four degrees cooler than it was on Sunday night for the Everton squad today at least, so they can have that as a positive I suppose.

21:42Adam Jones

Pumas team confirmed

Well the Pumas team is in and...well I can’t say I’m really up-to-date with my Mexican football unfortunately.

If they can provide as much of a challenge as Millonarios at the weekend, however, it’s going to be a decent workout for the lads tonight.

What will be interesting to see is how many changes to the starting line-up Rafa Benitez makes...

21:41Marcus Banks

A new look for the Blues

That stunning third kit makes it's debut tonight...

21:22Adam Jones

The night shift begins...

Evening all!

Are we all settled in for the long run? How many of you are reading this on your phone while Love Island is on, be honest?

It’s not a natural time to be waiting for Everton to kick off, but that’s the nature of these pre-season tours!

Sunday night was a good workout for the side against a team who have already started their 2021/22 campaign.

Let’s hope the Blues can kick things up a further notch this evening, although everyone will still understand that this is more a fitness exercise than anything else.

Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing the new players in action again - especially after seeing Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend’s qualities in training!

...honestly, I’m just hoping the match is at least exciting enough to keep me awake into the small hours of the morning.

Chuck Gru and that Minion from the other night up front, if not.

ICYMI: Coleman signs new deal

Seamus Coleman has signed a one-year contract extension with Everton.

"I’m very happy - everyone around the Football Club and I’m sure all the fans know how much this club has meant to me from day one,” Coleman said.
