Arsenal news: Gunners eye transfer for Tottenham star as Erling Haaland demand made
Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Thursday, March 17.
Arsenal eye Steven Bergwijn transfer
With just a few months to go until the transfer market is back in full swing, it goes without saying that Arsenal’s squad planning will be well underway. A number of targets have already been identified and a surprise name on the Gunners’ shortlist is reportedly Tottenham Hotspur wideman Steven Bergwijn.
According to CalcioMercato, Arsenal are competing with AC Milan for the Dutchman’s services. The former PSV Eindhoven man faces an uncertain future with Spurs having seen a move to Ajax in January fail to come to fruition.

Hazard drops Gunners’ hint
From one wideman to another now and it appears that Eden Hazard has dropped a hint over his affection for Arsenal. The Belgian previously admitted that he was a huge fan of the Gunners’ Invincible side of the early 2000s.
Speaking last year, he said: “For me, the players I looked up to were Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry.
“It’s difficult for me to admit because of my relationship with Chelsea, but I really liked the Arsenal team at the time. They had players like Robert Pires, [Sylvain] Wiltord, and [Patrick] Vieira, so it was mainly French players that I followed growing up.”
Hazard has been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium over recent weeks.

Dortmund set Haaland deadline
Another name that has been closely associated with the Gunners recently is Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. A transfer for the Norwegian hitman may have to occur quickly if reports are to be believed.
According to Bild, interested clubs have to activate the release clause in his current contract by April 30. As well as Arsenal, Haaland has also been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.
