Fearne Cotton announces split from husband days after tumour ...

Fearne Cotton has told with "heavy heart" that she has split from her husband days after undergoing surgery. The TV and radio presenter has been married to Jesse Wood for 10 years.

She broke the news on social media on Friday. Posting on her Instagram story she wrote: "It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.

"Our priority has been and always will be our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time."

Fearne began dating Jesse Wood, son of Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood, in 2011 going on to marry him in 2014. They have two children, son Rex Rayne Wood, born a year before they married, and daughter Honey Krissy Wood who is nine.

The announcement comes just days after the star told how she had found two tumours on her jaw. Posting earlier this month on Instagram she said she was told the "growing" lumps are benign - non-cancerous.

She thanked friend Davina McCall for her support. Davina herself has recently undergone surgery for a brain tumour.

Speaking then she told her 3.9m followers: "I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago now but this year noticed it was growing. Turns out it's a benign tumour and another small one above it on the saliva gland. I'm feeling positive about it all and will take the opportunity to rest and slow right down.

"If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is a bit off, always go get it checked. I'm so glad I did as the longer you leave these things the more complicated things become."

She said her podcast, The Happy Place - would continue as there pre-recorded episodes. But she did warn her Instagram followers that she wouldn't be on the social media site as much over the next couple of weeks as a result of the operation.

Both Fearne and Jesse had other relationships before meeting. Fearne was engaged to skateboarder Jesse Jenkins after they started dating in 2008. They got engaged in September 2010 but separated in April 2011. It was several months later before Fearne began dating her future husband.

Jesse himself was also previously married to first wife Tilly Wood. They had two children over their eight-year relationship.
