Slimer arrives for Ghostbusters fun for Powys neighbourhood
IF there was something strange in your neighbourhood last weekend there was no need to call the Ghostbusters - they were already there.

The Welsh Ghostbusters visited Builth’s Wyeside Arts Centre on Sunday, March 24… they even brought Slimer and Stay Puft.

Powys members James Sheen and Trev Gummer were on hand with their proton packs to entertain local children and take care of any fiendish characters.

The Welsh Ghostbusters is a group that was founded by James in 2013. It started with just three people and even though it was originally designed to be a Mid Wales group only, it quickly attracted others from around Wales and expanded to become the Welsh Ghostbusters.

The group is a cosplay charity group that has raised money for the Wales Air Ambulance and Macmillan Cancer Research.

Just over a decade later the group boasts 245 members, spanning not just Wales but from all over the UK and beyond.

The Ghostbusters franchise spans multiple films, animated series, comic books and video games.

Beginning with the 1984 live-action film Ghostbusters, it starred Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis – who both also wrote it – as well as Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson, playing the characters of Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore, who start a ghost-catching business in New York City.

People can find the Welsh Ghostbusters on Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
