Ellie Warner: what happened to Gogglebox star’s boyfriend Nat Eddleston - accident explained

Gogglebox cast member Ellie Warner’s boyfriend Nat Eddleston is reportedly in intensive care, after being hit by a car.

Warner has not yet spoken about the news, however fans of the show have offered their condolences online as reports claim that Eddleston is “fighting for his life”.

Ellie Warner is best known as a Gogglebox star who, alongside sister Izzi, joined the show back in 2015, in its sixth season.

Warner’s boyfriend, Nat Eddleston, briefly replaced Izzi on the show in 2020, when social distancing measures were implemented amid the Covid-19 outbreak, meaning that Warner and her sister were unable to film together.

Outside of appearing on the show, Warner works as a freelance hairdresser based at a salon in Leeds called Tint. Other salons that she has worked at in the past include Sassoons and HIVE, both also in Leeds.

In 2021, Warner and Eddleston bought a home together - the couple are documenting the renovation of their house on a shared Instagram account called throughmykeyhole, which describes their home as a “1930s semi in Leeds”.

On 18 May last year, the account posted: “And so the work begins!! Nat hard at work in the kitchen chipping the plaster off the chimney breast and exposing the brick beneath!

“Still don’t have a clue what else I’m gonna do in here but I just knew I had to get this out of the way first as it’s such a messy job! I’ve got dust in places I never knew dust could reach!”

According to the Sun, Warner is on a life support machine with a broken neck and collapsed lungs after he was hit by a car.

He was reportedly out with his friends at his local pub in Halton and had been struck by a car just after midnight.

A family member who was asked not to be identified told the outlet: “Nat is in intensive care with a broken neck, broken back, two collapsed lungs and possible brain damage.

“He is on a life support machine and all the family and Ellie are obviously very worried for him.”

The Sun reported that Eddleston had been hit by a white Seat Leon, which sustained a “smashed windscreen and dented roof” in the incident. It has been said that the car continued to travel for around 100 years before it stopped.

While Warner herself is yet to speak about the incident, fans of the show have expressed their condolences in the comments of a Valentine’s Day post on Warner’s Instagram from last month.

In the post, Warner shared a picture of Eddleston and wrote: “Happy Valentine’s Day to my one true loves.”

One person commented: “Sending you lots of love. I had the same injuries 30 years ago in an accident and although it’s a tough road he will get through it. I’m only saying this so you know people get through it. Sending lots of positive vibes to you xx”

Another wrote: “Thoughts & prayers for a full & speedy recovery.”

“Thinking of you all in this difficult time, stay positive,” wrote another.
