Gogglebox under fire for ruining 'family' viewing with x-rated clips

Gogglebox has come under fire from fans - for "destroying" its family friendly nature. Gogglebox has been slammed for using explitit content in recent episodes.

Friday night saw the show air clips from Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over. The new TV show from the BBC Strictly Come Dancing favourite sees her interview a gran who is a dominatrix.

Clips showed her whipping a half naked man and use pliers on his nipples. And while watching Roar, Gogglebox was shown a further x-rated scene.

Amy Howey said: "#Gogglebox should not be promoting shows that are basically insinuating bestiality. That was absolutely disgusting and wasn’t in the slightest bit funny." Georgina said: "Felt like they were trying to be edgy but it doesn’t work."

"Oh but didn't you realise, this is how they make the headlines now?? They couldn't possibly show reactions of ordinary people to shows we all watch like #Gogglebox used to be, it's all about repeating the most shocking content. What a fall from what it used to be," Amamale said.

Suzanne said: "Couldn’t believe what I was watching to be honest. Who wrote that? And why did she think it was acceptable to play that part? If it was a man with a sheep it wouldn’t have been allowed and rightly so! Really disturbing."

Lara said: "a step too far on tonight’s #Gogglebox Please don’t destroy our weekly family viewing. Dominatrix bad enough but no one wants to watch a woman and a duck. No warning. No need."

Amamale said: "Doubly disturbing that the editors of #Gogglebox thought it was worth showing on mainstream tv AND making it the end of the show highlight. Shock content is never a substitute for quality content. #Gogglebox has become very sensationalist this season at the expense of quality."

Sophie said: "I get showing weird shows but this one took it a bit too far. Folk will obviously say 'snowflake' etc but honestly it was so disturbing and whoever came up with it needs help."
