Gordon Ramsay tells food critic Jay Rayner to get a real job in Twitter feud
'Your professional job is stuffing your face on the back of great chefs. When are you going to get a real job'

Gordon Ramsay has told top food critic Jay Rayner 'to get a real job' in a Twitter 'feud'.

Jay, The Observer's restaurant critic and a feature writer, started the row when he tweeted: "Is this still all you have Gordon Ramsay? Shouting at people? Swearing at people? Humiliating people? Making people cry? Then punching the air when the cameras turns off?".

Gordon responded with: "Jay you inspire me every day…especially after your performance on the Weakest Link. Goodbye." To which Jay replied: "The first time I won it mate. The second time I came third. And neither time did I make anybody cry."

Chef Ramsay then turned up the heat, firing back: "Jay your professional job is stuffing your face on the back of great chefs. When are you going to get a real job ?? Goodbye."

Twitter appeared to enjoy the spat, with some agreeing with Gordon - and others taking the food critic's side. @byrum111317 said: "Gordon Ramsay Twitter feuds are my new favourite thing."

And Septimus Trelaw tweeted Jay saying: "Gordon's got a valid point. You do make your very good living off the hard labours of others. A spoonful of humility would be nice."
