MasterChef viewers slam programme as the Gordon Ramsay Show and say he ruined it
The remaining three had to cook at Gordon Ramsay’s London hotspot

MasterChef is officially in finals week, and tonight’s episode saw the four contestants become three before they headed out into the big world of professional cooking.

The four cooks had to offer an interpretation of a classical dish, with one being eliminated. The remaining three had to then cook at Gordon Ramsay’s flagship London hotspot, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

Ramsay had to share the screen with his former protégé Paul Ainsworth, who owns several restaurants in Cornwall and is one of its best-known chefs. Although Ainsworth, who has also achieved celebrity chef status and owns three restaurants in Cornwall - Paul Ainsworth at No6 and Caffe Rojano, both in Padstow, and The Mariners at Rock, as well as The Townhouse guesthouse, was judging with Ramsay, it became clear that the latter - as ever - hogged the limelight.

Viewers quickly took to social media to voice their opinion on the famous chef and television personality, with many saying that he 'ruined' the cooking programme.

One person tweeted: "This is not the Gordon Ramsay Show !! Ruined the programme !!" Another person said: "This is more like #TheApprentice."

A third said: "Almost switched off @MasterChefUK seeing Gordon Ramsay involved. He does seem to be teaching v shouting but not an easy watch."

A fourth tweeted: "It's the Gordon Ramsay show again...least we didn't have to suffer John and Gregg as much."

Similarly, a fifth viewer posted: "The worst decision by MC to have Ramsey on … why do we want to watch a chef who can’t speak respectfully to contestants. He is all about his own ego and not encouraging these gifted amateurs."

A user simply said: "It’s been interesting seeing Gordon Ramsay on this show. However never again please."

The dinner was held as a special anniversary for the restaurant as it celebrates 21 years of boasting an impressive three Michelin stars.

Gordon opened his flagship restaurant back in 1998, putting French cuisine at the forefront of the London food scene. The restaurant had been awarded the coveted 3 Michelin stars by 2001.

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay serves three different menus for its guests to enjoy - A La Carte, Menu Prestige, and Carte Blanche.

The remaining finalists on MasterChef will compete for the crown at 8pm tomorrow on BBC One.
