Qatar TotalEnergies Open a great success, says TotalEnergies Country Chair

TotalEnergies Qatar congratulated the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation for a very successful conduct of Qatar TotalEnergies Open tournament. The week-long event was held in Doha from February 20-26 and increased its ranking to a WTA 1000 tier for the first time. It welcomed 56 players, including 8 of the top 10 players in its singles draw, and 28 pairs in the doubles draw. Iga Swiatek of Poland won the singles title, while USA’s Cori Gauff and Jessica Pegula were the doubles champions.This year, the sponsorship agreement which was first launched in 2001, was renewed for three additional years. But TotalEnergies’ partnership with Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation, goes far beyond tennis. At the booth, visitors were able to enjoy a ‘Journey of Energy’ cycling activity which explained the different forms of energies TotalEnergies is involving in.For the first time this year, TotalEnergies booth emissions has been reduced with the use of solar energy. There was also a display of solar panels, and a cleaning robot provided by Qatar Environment & Energy Research Institute (QEERI), allowing visitors and children to learn more about solar power, one of TotalEnergies’ key business axis.In its efforts aimed at supporting local cultural and artistic talent in Qatar, TotalEnergies also collaborated with three emerging Qatari artists exclusively for this event.
