Danny Miller has won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2021.

The Emmerdale star, who is best known for playing Aaron Dingle in the ITV soap, was overjoyed after being crowned the first ever King of the Castle by presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

He follows on the heels of Giovanna Fletcher who was crowned the very first Queen of the Castle after the show’s move from Australia to Wales in 2020.

It had been a tense race to the final as Danny had gone up against Simon Gregson, while Frankie Bridge finished in third place.

Danny entered the castle three weeks after the birth of his first child, a son called Albert, and he told Ant and Dec he had gone on the show to secure his child’s future financially.

Reacting to his triumph, the stunned soap star told the hosts: ‘I have made no secret about the fact that I wanted to be able to give him and set him up for a good future.

‘I wasn’t financially set for that and this is an opportunity to do that. It would set me and my family up. I feel like I have done it. I feel proud of myself and I hope my family are as well.’

Speaking about his Emmerdale character Aaron, he said: ‘I have played him for such a long time. Everybody knows me as that character so it is my chance to have a bit of a laugh, meet loads of new people and just be a bit different and do something in the reality world. And I have loved every minute of it.’

Coronation Street’s Simon told the hosts that he had finished the series with greater self-confidence.

The actor explained: ‘I knew before I came in that I needed to be in a certain state of mind not to be ‘blah blah blah’ and I think I achieved that.’

Frankie spoke to Ant and Dec after becoming the first star booted out of the castle, and said: ‘I really like to push myself and do things that take me out of my comfort zone.

‘And being quite a naturally anxious person, I kind of wanted to prove myself wrong on things that I’m really scared of and show other people, if you’re scared you can do them and end up smiling at the end.’

David Ginola had come close to a place in the final after being eliminated on Saturday night.

His campmates were in utter shock over his exit, clearly not expecting the former professional footballer to leave the show ahead of the final.

Speaking to Ant and Declan about his experience in the castle, David said: ‘It surprised me in a good way but also in a bad way because obviously it was really hard.

‘The conditions we were in were really complicated, the food, the sleep, the lack of everything.’

Expressing his excitement over being reunited with his loved ones, he added: ‘It’s a hell of a journey. Wow, an amazing journey.’

His elimination came just a day after Adam Woodyatt and Matty Lee left the castle.

This year’s I’m A Celebrity has certainly seen its fair share of drama, with Richard Madeley forced to exit the competition early.

The Good Morning Britain presenter had been rushed to hospital after falling ill but was unable to return to camp having broken the Covid bubble by leaving.

Days later, the series was forced to come off-air for three nights after Storm Arwen struck the area surrounding the castle, causing severe damage to the control centre.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here is available to watch on the ITV Hub.
