England were all out for 253 in their reply to India’s first innings total of 396 on day two of the second test in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

Ben Stokes’ men trail India by 143 runs after the first innings, largely thanks to another captain’s knock of 47, which ended thanks to a tremendous Jasprit Bumrah delivery, with the bowler ending the innings with a fine 6-45.

Stokes’ innings was crucial after England collapsed following the loss of Zak Crawley (76), who scored the only half-century in their innings. Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav also claimed 3-71.

Jasprit Bumrah reacts to dominant India day against England

"You always enjoy it when you get rewards, very happy to get wickets, no better feeling,” Jasprit Bumrah says after a fine day for himself and India.

“In India you have to learn to bowl overswing. I practice when the ball gets old. Very happy when I saw it as a kid and now to do it, very happy.

“When you bowl reverse swing, people try to bowl magic deliveries, you have to be patient, set the batsman up, have a plan, use the deliveries wisely. Very happy with the execution and how I could contribute on a wicket like that.”
