Saoirse Ronan Has Reportedly Married Her LongTerm Partner
The 'Little Women' started dating her former co-star in 2018

Congratulations are said to be in order for Little Women star Saoirse Ronan who is believed to have married her boyfriend of six years, Jack Lowden.

According to the Irish Independent, the pair wed in an intimate ceremony in Edinburgh, Scotland last weekend, with only a handful of their closest friends and family present.

The publication noted that the register of Scottish civil marriages shows that Saoirse Una Ronan married Jack Andrew Lowden at the Edinburgh Central Registrar’s Office.

The notoriously private couple met in 2018 on the set of Mary Queen of Scots, in which Ronan played Mary Stuart and Lowden played the monarch’s husband, Lord Darnley.

Rumours of a possible engagement started swirling in 2023 when Lowden posted pictures from the summit of Ben Vrackie in Perthshire, showing a hand, which fans thought might belong to Ronan, wearing a diamond ring. While fans were quick to flock to the comments section of the post to share their well wishes for the couple, the news was never officially confirmed.

The Irish actor, who had her breakthrough role playing Keira Knightley’s younger sister in 2007’s acclaimed drama Atonement, has historically shut down questions about her love life. 'Am I allowed to ask if you’re going out with the person that everyone thinks you’re going out with?' a reporter for The Telegraph asked Ronan in December 2019, to which she replied, 'No.'

Lowden, who recently shared pictures of the pair from this year's Glastonbury festival, has mirrored his partner's privacy efforts.

'Oh I’m not going to talk about that. I don’t like talking about that side of life,' he told ES Magazine in February 2019. 'Most of the actors I know live pretty normal lives, it’s just every now and again they have to do something ridiculous or extraordinary. My life hasn’t changed. People seem more interested — I guess that’s changed, for sure.'
