Joe made an estimated £20,000 - £30,000 per episode

Joe Locke has wowed viewers in his role in new Netflix drama Heartstopper

After Netflix dropped its new teen LGBT+ drama, viewers raved over the new show. Heartstopper is about two boys who fall for each other at secondary school whilst dealing with homophobic abuse.

At the forefront of the show is Joe Locke who plays the role of Charlie Spring. Since his announcement for the show, Joe has been catapulted into fame as fans want as much of him as possible. Unbeknownst to the majority, this is actually his first-ever role.

Here's everything you should know about Joe Locke before diving into Heartstopper.

Despite viewers thinking they've seen the actor elsewhere, Heartstopper is actually Joe's first big break. Theatre fans may have caught him on stage as part of National Theatre Connections in 2020 but other than that, this is his first time in the spotlight.

With the show centring around Charlie's love life, speculation and rumours have been rife as to whether or not Joe is single. Throughout Heartstopper we see him fall for a dreamy rugby player but it appears the affair has not translated offscreen. Refusing to confirm or deny any dating rumours, Joe has kept his romantic life under wraps from social media.

Spending the majority of his time filming in Kent, Joe isn't another number on a long list of London-based actors. The 18-year-old actually hails from the Isle of Man where he has lived with his family all his life.

Despite small beginnings, Joe's net worth has already started stacking up. It is reported Netflix pays its actors anywhere between £20,000 - £30,000 per episode for the first series of a new show. Rumours are already circulating Joe has several other gigs lined up, meaning his bank balance is expected to skyrocket very soon.
