A Place in the Sun fans emotional after Channel 4's message as episode ends

A Place in the Sun viewers were emotional as today's episode was dedicated to Jonnie Irwin.
The presenter died aged 50 on Friday after a battle with cancer. Jonnie was part of A Place in the Sun's original presenting line-up and a touching tribute was issued on the show's official Instagram account in the aftermath of his death.
It said: "We are heartbroken. Jonnie was a much-loved part of the A Place in the Sun family for more than 18 years - he brought joy, wit and bundles of energy to the show. We will miss him terribly. Our thoughts are with Jess and the boys and the rest of the family."

A Place in the Sun returned to our screens today and a Channel 4 announcement before the show confirmed it was dedicated to Jonnie's memory. Today's episode was hosted by Danni Menzies as she showed two househunters around five homes in Manilva.
A message after the credits rolled showed the episode was "in memory of Jonnie Irwin".
Fans following the show on social media platform X praised Jonnie during the episode.
Beckie said: "I loved this fella. The show hasn’t been the same without him. He was bold, brash and funny and that’s what I liked about him. Condolences to his family and friends for their terrible loss Rest in peace sweet man"
