ITV The Chase: Josie Long's famous comedian partner and her 'joy' at becoming a parent - MyLondon

Josie Long, 39, is a popular comedian who has been entertaining audiences since starting out in stand up when she was just a teenager.

Josie's career has been hugely successful so far, and she has worked alongside a number of household names including Stuart Lee, Isy Suttie and Charlie Brooker.

She has also received a number of awards and accolades over the years, including winning the Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2006.

Given Josie's success, it's perhaps unsurprising that she has amassed a dedicated fan base who love to keep up-to-date with her personal and private life away from the world of comedy.

A fun fact about Josie is that she is in a relationship with another famous name.

Josie and fellow comic Jonny Donahoe have been together for a number of years and even have two daughters together.

Jonny is known for being one half of the comedy band Jonny and the Baptists.

Opening up to Cambridge Independent, Josie spoke candidly about becoming a mother.

“The most surprising thing about being a parent is the joy and the fun and seeing my daughter shows us who she is,” Josie explained.

“It's amazing. Also the fact that childbirth was not horrific. It was actually a very intense and quite difficult but kind of a great experience and I didn't expect that.”

Josie also explained that she wants to incorporate her experience of motherhood into her performance: “When I started in comedy quite young you’d get told that women comedians only talk about women's experiences.

"People describe that as if it is awful and that it means they are not interesting and that somehow people won't be able to empathise. The thing that has been really brilliant about writing all this stuff is I feel I'm sharing something massive.

"The biggest thing that has ever happened to my body, the biggest change in my life."
