Lady Gaga Gives Emotional Speech at Kamala Harris Rally
The pop icon sang some of her biggest hits at the major election event.

On Monday night, Vice President Kamala Harris held a massive campaign rally in Pennsylvania right outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The giant gathering featured speeches and performances by Fat Joe, Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, The Roots, will.i.am, and Oprah Winfrey. In her speech to the crowd Harris encouraged people to plan to vote on Nov. 5, saying, “One more day, just one more day in the most consequential election of our lifetime. And momentum is on our side.”

She continued, “Do we believe in freedom? Do we believe in opportunity? Do we believe in the promise of America, and are we ready to fight for it? And when we fight, we win!”

Lady Gaga was one of the stand out speakers and performers of the night. She introduced Harris’s husband, Doug Emhoff, to the stage and sang a rendition of “God Bless America.”

She also spoke about her own passionate feelings about the upcoming election.

“For more of this country’s life, women didn’t have a voice,” she stated. “Yet we raised children, we held our families together, we supported men as they made the decisions. But tomorrow, women will be part of making this decision.”

She added, “Today, I am holding in my heart all the tough, tenacious women who made me who I am. I cast my vote for someone who will be a president for all Americans.”

At the end of the night, Lady Gaga returned to perform “Edge of Glory.”

Katy Perry also performed for the rally, singing her hit songs “Dark Horse,” “Part of Me,” and “Firework.”

Perry spoked about endorsing Harris as well, saying, “Four years ago, I became a mother... She is the reason I am voting for Kamala Harris. I know she will protect my daughter’s future and your children’s future.”
