Kate Hudson gushes about Tom Hanks son ahead of their new
Kate Hudson has opened up about working with her co-star on the upcoming Netflix series.

Kate Hudson is all praise for her 'fabulous' co-star as she gears up for her latest role in Netflix's new series, Running Point.

The series boasts 10 episodes, with Mindy Kaling at the helm as executive producer and co-writer, spinning a tale about an 'overlooked' womanplayed by Katewho climbs to the top as president of her family's basketball enterprise, the Los Angeles Waves.

Kate, 45, joins a star-studded ensemble cast featuring Chet Hanks - son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson - who not only nails his portrayal as a basketball pro but also dabbles as an aspiring rapper on the side.

During an appearance on BBC The One Show with presenters Roman Kemp and Lauren Laverne this Tuesday, Kate couldn't resist heaping accolades on her colleague, reports Surrey Live.

Lauren kicked off the conversation remarking: "It's an amazing cast. I loved seeing you with Chet Hanks, kind of really playing off each other. So son of Tom, he plays one of the star players in the team."

In response, Kate effused: "Chet (Hanks) is so good in this show and part of it is that he was the right person to play this part. I don't want to ruin it for everyone but he really just leans in and he is a fantastic actor."

She elaborated with enthusiasm: "When he auditioned he was the only one who could do it so he really does shine in the show so it's really exciting to see that."

Kate said Chet Hanks was the only person for the role

Speaking fondly of her fellow actors, Kate added: "And Justin is amazing too. He plays my brother and just everybody. They're all just great comedians so it's really been a joy."

The show's synopsis reads: "When a scandal forces her brother to resign, Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) is appointed president of the Los Angeles Waves, one of the most storied professional basketball franchises, and her family business.

"Ambitious and often overlooked, Isla will have to prove to her sceptical brothers, the board, and the larger sports community that she was the right choice for the job. Over the course of the series, she sets out to do just that - especially in the unpredictable, male-dominated world of sports.

"From the hitmaking team of Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, Running Point puts a bold twist on the underdog comedy."

The One Show airs weekdays from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer and Running Point will be available to stream on Netflix from February 27.
