If Anyone Can Bring Back Skinny Jeans Its Kate Moss
As if her pants weren’t controversial enough, Moss opted for a pair of low-rise skinny jeans—a double whammy for those who want the 2000s to stay dead and buried.

There’s been some discussion brewing lately over the return of skinny jeans. But despite all the controversy, they’ve retained popularity among the supermodel crowd: Emily Ratajkowski, Bella Hadid, and Gisele Bündchen are all recent wearers. Now, Kate Moss has entered the chat.

The model was spotted shopping in the Cotswolds in a lowkey look that also held a piece of fashion history. On top, she wore a mixed-print long-sleeved blouse from Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s World’s End spring 1982 collection. Moss was a notable face on Westwood’s runways, memorably eating ice cream while walking topless during the spring 1995 show. But even this shirt predates her storied career, which began in 1988.

Moss paired her World’s End blouse with model-off-duty staples. She wore a pair of cuffed blue skinny jeans and black ballet flats, and she accessorized with a wicker tote bag and black wayfarers.

As if her pants weren’t controversial enough, Moss opted for a pair of low-rise skinny jeans—a double whammy for those who want the 2000s to stay dead and buried. Although, while the world may not be totally sold on the return of skinny jeans, maybe they’d change their mind if, like Kate Moss, they also had a vintage Vivienne Westwood top to pair with them.
