Katie Price has been declared bankrupt for a second time over an unpaid tax bill worth more than £750,000.

The former glamour model, who was previously declared bankrupt in 2019, owes £761,994.05 to HM Revenue and Customs. At a short hearing at London’s Rolls Building, Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Sebastian Prentis said Katie had not responded to HMRC over the debt and declared her bankrupt.

He said: “There has been no response from the debtor. The papers are in order. There is substantial debt due from Ms Price to HMRC and therefore I will make a bankruptcy order.”

Judge Prentis said that the bill “derives from self-assessments from the year 2020-2021 and from the year 2021-22” and includes income tax, VAT, surcharges and interest. Katie did not attend the hearing on Monday, which came just days after the TV personality was fined £880 for driving without a licence or insurance in Northamptonshire in August last year.

Last month, during a hearing in London, barrister Darragh Connell, who was representing the trustees told the court that Katie had reached a voluntary agreement in a separate dispute over unpaid debts. Connell told a bankruptcy hearing judge that the previous agreement included 36 payments of £12,500, as well as a lump sum.

The High Court ruled that the 45-year-old will lose half of her monthly earnings. The court heard that trustees went to court to ask for an income payment order – which means money from Katie's earnings would go towards her debts.

Four companies were listed including the adult-only subscription site, OnlyFans, as well as a photographic agency, Backgrid. Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Catherine Burton said, at the end of the hearing, the four companies are "obligated to deduct 40 percent of the income due to be paid to Ms Price" each month for the next three years.

A previous bankruptcy hearing for the TV personality held in September last year descended into chaos when the former glamour model accused people of taking recordings and screenshots of the virtual proceeding. Katie told Judge Paul Greenwood: "There are people already on here who shouldn’t be on here. It’s an awful site that gives me anxiety.

She later added: “I’m scared to be on here because of these people on this site. They are awful about me. It’s a site where they just slag everyone off. I’m petrified," and subsequently said: “They are already saying I’m going to jail on there.”

Judge Greenwood informed those joining the hearing, which was held on Microsoft Teams, that it is contempt of court to screenshot or record proceedings. He concluded that the hearing – which was due to last 15 minutes and cover the future direction of the case – should be held in private, with only the parties and lawyers able to stay.

Speaking about her financial difficulties in August 2023 Katie told Michelle Visage she was “fed up” of being threatened with legal action and would go to prison to be “done with it all”. Speaking to the TV personality on her Rule Breakers podcast, Price discussed her bankruptcy and said she had recently been to court “more times than I’ve had hot dinners” and would “genuinely” not care if she was jailed.

In March 2023, Price told Jeremy Vine’s Channel 5 show that people should not be “ashamed” of being declared bankrupt and she had been struggling with her mental health in recent years. During a hearing in October 2020, Price apologised to the court, saying: “I just haven’t been able to deal with these issues or in the right mental state to understand everything that has been going on.”
