Katie Price declared bankrupt for second time over huge tax bill
The former glamour model - who was declared bankrupt in 2019 - now owes the taxman over £750,000

Katie Price has been declared bankrupt for a second time over a huge unpaid tax bill. The former glamour model owes HM Revenue and Customs, £761,994.05.

At a short hearing at London's Rolls Building, Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Sebastian Prentis said Price had not responded to HMRC over the debt and declared her bankrupt.

The 45-year-old was previously declared bankrupt in 2019 and did not attend Monday's hearing, the Mirror reports.

Judge Prentis: "There has been no response from the debtor. The papers are in order. There is substantial debt due from Ms Price to HMRC and therefore I will make a bankruptcy order."

Last month, during a hearing in London, barrister Darragh Connell, told the court that Price had reached a voluntary agreement over the debts but no payments has been made. The previous agreement included 36 payments of £12,500, as well as a lump sum.

The High Court ruled that the 45-year-old will lose half of her monthly earnings. The court heard that trustees went to court to ask for an income payment order - which means money from Katie's earnings would go towards her debts.

Four companies were listed including the adult-only subscription site, OnlyFans, as well as a photographic agency, Backgrid. Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Catherine Burton said, at the end of the hearing, the four companies are "obligated to deduct 40% of the income due to be paid to Ms Price" each month for the next 36 months.
