The singer also accepted the BRITs Global Icon award

Kylie Minogue accepted the 2024 BRIT Awards Global Icon award and also performed during the ceremony on Saturday at O2 Arena in London.

Dua Lipa, who won the Pop Act award and was a fellow performer at the BRITs, presented the award to Minogue. The Australian pop star has garnered nine U.K. Number One Albums and seven U.K. Number One singles over the course of her more than three-decade career. As the announcer said during the broadcast, “Kylie is a master of musical reinvention.”

Minogue thanked everyone who had been along for her career trajectory and also gave props to those who came after her. “Right, I’m just going to be sobbing with Raye. Raye, you did that,” she said of the singer who made history, winning six awards at the 2024 Brits.

“It’s been a lifetime — 36 years and counting — of experiences together, and the thing that really gets me is a love of music and connection with people.” She added that “There’s a part of me that still the 14-year-old girl in her room dreaming of making music and being in this industry.” She then shouted-out the students from the BRIT school and encouraged them to pursue their dreams.

“I just feel you. I feel your promise, and I’m so excited for you,” she said. “And here I am with this. And anything’s possible.”

Minogue also closed out the night with an electrifying medley. She began her performance dressed in a shiny red number while towering above the stage on a small platform as she launched into “Padam Padam.” Once the platform she was on lowered to reach stage level, she segued into other outfits and other eras, joining her futuristic backup dancers. Shedding her outer red dress, she appeared in a black gown with white trim to deliver her 2001 megahit, “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.”

But that was far from the only trick up the artist’s sleeve. A group of people dressed in black cloaks and masks joined her onstage as she made yet another onstage costume change, peeling off her black gown to reveal a white one before launching into “Love at First Sight.”

“Thank you so much,” she said as she walked down the center stage catwalk. “Thank you for being on this incredible journey with me,” she continued before she delivered the euphoric “All the Lovers” to close out her nearly seven-minute set and the 2024 Brit Awards.
