U21s Preview: Nottingham Forest vs Leeds United Leeds United
Leeds United Under-21s will be keen to extend their winning run to five matches on Monday evening, as they travel to Loughborough to face Nottingham Forest Under-21s in the Premier League 2.
Impressive victories over Tottenham U21s and Boston United, in the PL2 and National League Cup respectively, kick started the rich vein of form for Scott Gardner’s side.
The Whites followed that up with a hard-fought 2-1 success against West Brom U21s on league duties, before prevailing 3-1 over Stockport County U21s in the Premier League Cup last time out.
Behind early in the second half, a stunning free kick from Rhys Chadwick brought United level, before goals from Jeremiah Mullen and Joe Richards completed the comeback to earn a fourth straight win in all competitions.
The Whites sit 13th in the PL2 standings, only trailing Monday’s opposition by virtue of goal difference.
Forest got off to the perfect start in the competition as they won their first three fixtures, but their fortunes changed as they went on to lose their next three matches.
Last time out, the Nottinghamshire outfit fell to a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Southampton in Loughborough.
