Manchester United have had a £42 million bid accepted by Lille for defender Leny Yoro - but he may prefer a move to Real Madrid.

Lille accept offer Yoro bid from Man Utd

Manchester United have had a £42 million bid accepted by Lille for defender Leny Yoro, it has been claimed.

A report in The Sun suggested United are “closing in on a deal” to sign the teenager.

However, the France U21 international is said to be “more keen” on a move to UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid.

The article reads: “According to Fabrizio Romano, the Ligue 1 club are urging the centre-half to accept Man Utd's proposal.

“However, he remains more keen on a transfer to Real Madrid and is still waiting on the 15-time European champions.

“It is now up to Yoro to decide whether to join Erik ten Hag's men or pass up the opportunity in the hope a Bernabeu transfer goes through.”

United agree deal for De Ligt

Manchester United have “verbally agreed personal terms” with Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, claims the Manchester Evening News.

“Bayern want £42million for the 24-year-old and United are optimistic of concluding a deal for Netherlands international De Ligt,” notes the outlet.

The report claims The Red Devils want to sign two centre backs “and have had a second bid of £45m rising to £50m rejected for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite”.

Trio in for Turkey wing-back

Ferdi Kadioglu, who shone for Turkey during their run to the Euro 2024 quarter-finals, is being chased by a trio of European giants.

According to the Mirror, Manchester United, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have submitted offers for the Fenerbahce wing-back.

“Manchester United are reportedly set to approach long-time Arsenal target Ferdi Kadioglu, who was commended by Gunners icon Lee Dixon whilst at Euro 2024,” states the Mirror.

“Arsenal tabled an offer for the Fenerbahce wing-back in June, according to Turkish media, but the player wished to conclude his Euros campaign before considering a switch.

“Now, with Turkey having been dumped out by the Netherlands, the starting gun has been fired for what looks to be a three-way bidding war for the defender.

“Both Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are said to have already submitted bids, so the third party in the race, United, will have some catching up to do if they're to get a deal across the line.”
