The news was broken to Enderby during a team meeting as manager Matt Beard revealed the winner to the entire squad, leading to a rapturous round of applause and cheers.

"I wasn't expecting this, to be honest, and I wouldn't have picked up the trophy without them," she said.

Enderby stepped off the bench in the second half to produce her brace against Everton and help Liverpool get off and running at new home St Helens Stadium.

"That night I was filled with confidence and I was glad to get the two goals," Enderby reflected. "But again, I wouldn't have done it without the girls.

"It was an important win for us and great to get that first win at St Helens Stadium. Hopefully we can get many more."
