Debut at number one in the UK album chart for the collaborative album by Mancunian rock royalty Liam Gallagher and John Squire.

The self-titled debut from former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher and Stone Roses guitarist John Squire earned just under 40,000 units in sales, 94% of which were physical sales and downloads.

Liam now boasts a total of 14 official No. 1 albums, in a career spanning three decades.

As a member of Oasis, Liam achieved eight chart-toppers: Definely Maybe (1994), (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? (1995), Be Here Now (1997), Standing on the Shoulders of Giants (2000), Heathen Chemistry (2002), Don’t Believe The Truth (2005), Dig Out Your Soul (2008) and the hits compilation Time Flies… 1994-2009 (2010).

As a soloist Liam has five other number 1 albums: As You Were (2017), Why Me? Why not. (2019), the live recording of MTV Unplugged (2020), C’MON YOU KNOW (1) and Knebworth 22 (Live) (1).

With former band Beady Eye, active from 2009 to 2014 and consisting of Liam, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, he achieved two Top 5 LPs: 2011’s Different Gear, Still Speeding (3) and BE (2) of 2013.

Liam Gallagher & John Squire is Squire’s first UK No. 1 album.

Other new entries in the top ten are Bruce Dickinsonbest known as the lead singer of Iron Maiden , who enters at number three with his seventh solo album “The Mandrake Project”.

At number four, the Leeds rockers make their debut Yard Act with their second studio LP “Where’s My Utopia?.

THE Kaiser Chiefs with “Easy Eighth Album” they enter the rankings at number six, while at number nine are the Everything Everything who are the third band to represent Manchester in this week’s Top 10, with their seventh studio album ‘Mountainhead’.

The latest new entry in the top 10 is tenth place with the British rapper and singer-songwriter Skrapz born Christopher Kyei and his new album “Reflections”.

Third week at number one in the singles chart TEXAS HOLD ‘EM by BEYONCE.

VINYLS

Liam Gallagher & John Squire they also top the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, moving the most copies to wax in the past seven days, with 45% of the total made up of vinyl sales. The record is also the most purchased album of the week in independent record shops in the UK.
