IF you're looking for a gift for a skincare fan or just want to try new products without splashing out, beauty boxes are the perfect answer.

Subscription services like GlossyBox and Birchbox have proved huge hits, with Boots and Next also offering their own versions.

And today, Lidl announced itself as a surprise addition to the beauty box market.

Bosses at the budget supermarket have hailed their new beauty box as the "latest must-have in beauty" and insist it is set to rival the likes of Liberty and Glossybox.

And they promises the £2 set is "beauty without the beastly price tag".

Launching on a one-off trial basis, beauty lovers can expect a "carefully curated collection" of Cien skincare and wellness treasures worth £70.

Cien is Lidl’s in-house beauty brand, producing everything from make-up and skincare to haircare and tools. 

The box includes a range of over 20 full size products across skincare, haircare and more, all wrapped in a beautifully designed floral-print gift package and delivered straight to shoppers' front doors. 

Skincare lovers can level up their routine with Cien Myramaze Premium Face Day Cream and Cien Myramaze Premium Face Night Cream - worth £7.49 each.

The box also includes the £1.55 Cien Micellar Cleansing Milk and £1.09 Cien Facial Scrub.

For days that require some extra TLC, the 99p Cien Tissue Face Masks and £3.99 Livarno Quartz Facial Roller should do the trick.

And the box doesn’t stop at skincare – with a range of irresistible fragrances that usually cost £5.65 also up for grabs.

From Suddenly Femelle Perfume (75ml), to Eau de Parfum for Men - Deep (75ml), Lidl claims shoppers will look and smell scent-sational.

Lidl bosses added: "Whether shoppers are seeking wellness treasures that rival high-end brands, or simply seek a great deal on beauty essentials, the Lidl Beauty Boxis the answer to premium products without the hefty price tag."

But shoppers will need to be quick to bag a box on the website, as they launch on an trial basis at 10am on Thursday May 9.

All proceeds will go to Lidl’s charity partner, NSPC.
