Lidl to open new store at Merry Hill
It will be based in the former Ultimate Outdoors unit

Budget supermarket Lidl is opening at store at Merry Hill.

It will be the third supermarket to come to Merry Hill but will not be situated inside the main shopping centre.

The supermarket giant will open up in the former Ultimate Outdoors unit - which has been empty since March 2020.

Lidl is already advertising a position for a store manager with a salary of £41,000 up to £53,000 per annum as it begins recruiting for the site.

Successful applicants can expect to receive benefits such as 35 days holiday per year (pro-rata) and a fully expensed company car, a pension scheme, 10 per cent in-store discount, plus extra discounts on days out, cinema tickets and much more.

It's not clear when the store is set to open but the closing date for the job application is May 13.

A spokesman for Lidl said: "We can confirm that we have purchased the site and secured planning permission to bring a new Lidl store to Merry Hill Retail Park.

"We look forward to investing in Dudley and creating up to 40 new jobs for the local area. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support so far."
