Britain's Got Talent gives Golden Buzzer to Greatest Showman star

Britain's Got Talent 2022 crowned its first Golden Buzzer act tonight (April 16) as The Greatest Showman vocalist Loren Allred stunned the judges.

Taking to the stage, the Pennsylvanian introduced herself as the singer behind earworm 'Never Enough', which Rebecca Ferguson's character Jenny Lind belted out (well, with the help of Allred's overlapping recording) in the 2017 movie.

Despite initially enjoying the quiet life away from the spotlight, she told Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams that it's time to embrace her talent and allow the public to know her identity.

Allred proceeded to treat everyone to a live version of 'Never Enough', bringing the whole studio to their feet before Amanda slammed down her Golden Buzzer button.

Once the downpour of glorious confetti finished, Amanda told her: "I am absolutely shaking. I can't believe I've had this incredible opportunity to give you your moment to shine, because this is it."

"This is so well deserved, because seeing somebody else sing that song in that movie and not have the recognition of doing one of the most incredible vocals ever, and now, for you to kind of reveal yourself to the world – it is actually one of the most incredible audition moments I've ever experienced. I'm speechless..." added Simon.

"Timing in life is everything and maybe this is your moment. Congratulations."

Over on Twitter, this sentiment was largely echoed by the adoring viewers, as one person reacted: "Wonderful voice, so pleased Loren will now get the credit she deserves for providing her fabulous voice for the movie.
