National Lottery runs the Lotto game every Saturday and Wednesday and this evening, players have been urged to check their tickets because someone has won the huge £7.2 million prize

A single ticketholder has tonight won the £7.2 million jackpot in Saturday's Lotto draw - but no one has claimed it yet.

Players have been urged to check their tickets and call in to grab the top prize. The winning Lotto numbers were 09, 19, 22, 41, 55 and 58, while the bonus number was 44.

The jackpot winner matched all six main numbers to take the large sum, but no players matched five numbers plus the bonus ball to win the £1 million prize.

Set of balls 5 and draw machine Merlin were used. Wednesday's estimated jackpot will now be £2 million. No players matched all five numbers in Lotto HotPicks, which uses the same numbers as the Lotto draw.

However, six players won £13,000 each after they managed to match four numbers. The winning Thunderball numbers were 12, 13, 14, 16 and 18, while the Thunderball number was 03.

No one matched all five numbers plus the Thunderball to scoop the £500,000 top prize, but five ticket holders matched all five regular numbers to win £5,000.

But earlier today, both the National Lottery app and website were offline, leaving UK users unable to check their winnings, see results or buy new tickets. The issue was resolved by 11am, but at its peak, DownDetector, which monitors online issues across the globe, showed more than 2,000 reports of disruption.

Lottery fans had rushed to X (formerly Twitter) to vent their anger and frustration. One player called Darren posted, "Got an email from The National Lottery saying I’ve won a prize, can’t see how much because the app and website are down."

And another called Jash asked, "The National Lottery website is down, is the Saturday lotto draw still going to happen anyway if a ticket was purchased from a shop?"

It's unclear what caused the outage but millions of PCs were taken offline yesterday due to the CrowdStrike bug. Firms including supermarkets, airlines and banks all faced mass outages after a security update was released that caused PCs to suffer the dreaded Blue Screen of Death.
