An urgent 'do not eat alert' has been issued as Magnum Classic ice creams are recalled over fears they 'may contain metals.' 

The Food Standard Agency (FSA) issued the warning this evening about three-packs of Magnum Classic Ice Cream. 

The affected products have a best before date of 11/2025 and one of the following batch codes - L3324, L3325, L3326, L3327 or L3328. 

In a product recall notice released by Unilever, the company which owns Magnum, they said: 'Magnum is taking the precautionary measure of recalling a limited number of Magnum Classic Ice Cream Sticks 3x100ml due to internal safety checks showing that they may contain small pieces of metal.

'The safety of the people that buy and use our products is always our number one priority which is why we are recalling these products. 

'No other Magnum products are affected - we apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation.'  

A Unilever spokesperson told MailOnline: 'The safety of the people that buy and use our products is our number one priority, so Magnum has taken the voluntary precaution of recalling a limited batch of Magnum Classic Chocolate Ice Cream Sticks 3 x 100ml, as internal quality checks have shown they may contain small pieces of metal.

'The products being recalled are limited to those with the Best Before Date of 11/2025, plus a Batch Code of: L3324, L3325, L3326, L3327, L3328. This information can be found on the side of the box and we are asking people to contact our Careline team on UK 0800 678 1031/Ireland 1800 444 420.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.'
