Manchester United were thrashed at Crystal Palace in the Premier League to leave their hopes of qualifying for Europe in serious jeopardy with Chelsea and Newcastle ahead of Erik ten Hag's side in the table

Manchester United were well beaten on Monday night as Crystal Palace won 4-0 at Selhurst Park.

A Michael Olise brace alongside goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell secured a dominant win for Oliver Glasner's side to leave United in eighth. Ten Hag's team have won just twice since March, with a 4-2 win over bottom club Sheffield United and an FA Cup semi-final penalty shootout win against Coventry City their only victories.

Verdict: Man United have the tougher fixtures left on paper, with title challengers Arsenal to come at Old Trafford on Sunday. It is possible that their European fate could be decided three days later against the Magpies in what may be a straight shootout for European football.

Chelsea should be confident of winning their remaining games, although a trip to Nottingham Forest could be tricky, with the Reds fighting for survival. Ultimately, it is looking likely that United will end the campaign eighth, their worst finish in the Premier League era.
